Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use our service, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

• Communications: messages you send us via email or support channels.

There is no sign-up and no payment. Sussur has no user accounts, so we hold no name, email address or password for the app, and it is free while it is in development, so we take no billing details and use no payment provider.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns within the app.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below.

Meeting and coaching data

Sussur processes live audio locally on your Mac to deliver real-time coaching. Audio, recordings, transcripts, and screenshots are not uploaded to Sussur. To generate the coaching, the app sends transcript text directly to the AI provider you configured, using an API key you supply and hold — an OpenRouter key, or a model served by Ollama on the same Mac, in which case nothing leaves at all. That request does not pass through Sussur: we never see your key, your usage or your bill, and your relationship for that processing is with the provider you chose, under their terms. Coaching tips, session summaries, and reports stay on your Mac.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Sussur service.
• Send you product updates, release announcements, and onboarding emails.
• Respond to your comments and questions.
• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We will not use your information to train third-party AI models or sell it to advertisers. Coaching data is used solely to improve the accuracy of Sussur's coaching engine.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the platform — cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics (PostHog, Google LLC for Google Analytics, and Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. for cookieless Ahrefs Web Analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or government request.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent: for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and understand how our service is used. Cookies we use include:

• Essential cookies: required for the site to function (e.g., your theme preference and your cookie choices). These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: help us understand which pages are most popular and how visitors move through the site. We use PostHog (privacy-first product analytics, no session recording, no cross-site profiling), which loads only after you allow it, and Google Analytics 4, which runs in Google Consent Mode: until you accept it, GA4 sends only cookieless signals with no identifiers and sets no cookies; accepting enables Google's own analytics cookies. Google acts as an independent data processor. You control both from the cookie banner.
• Cookieless analytics: we also use Ahrefs Web Analytics for SEO traffic measurement. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and collects no personal identifiers, so it runs without a consent gate (the ePrivacy cookie rules do not apply to it).
• Preference cookies: remember your settings such as dark mode preference.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our service and comply with legal obligations. Specific retention periods:

• Meeting audio: not retained. Audio is processed transiently and discarded immediately after real-time coaching is delivered.
• Session summaries and coaching logs: stored on your Mac, not by us. Delete them by deleting the app's local data.
• Usage analytics: PostHog usage data is retained in aggregated form. Google Analytics data is retained per Google's configurable retention window (up to 14 months) and governed by Google's terms.
• Email addresses from retired forms: Sussur no longer operates any mailing-list form or waitlist, and none of them are on the site. Addresses submitted before they closed are still stored. Email privacy@sussur.ai to have yours deleted.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Under GDPR and similar regulations, these include:

• Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restriction: request that we limit the processing of your data.
• Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
