01Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use our service, and information from third parties.
Information you provide
- Communications: messages you send us via email or support channels.
The app uses an account created by verifying your email with a one-time code. For that account we hold: your email address, an optional name and company you may add, and a metered usage counter (credits) used to run the service. We hold no password, sign-in is by emailed code, and no payment details: payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., which collects and stores billing information under its own terms; we hold only the subscription's status. Coaching inference runs through OpenRouter, Inc. as our processor; transcript text is sent there to generate your coaching and is not stored by us. To delete your account and its data, email hello@sussur.ai from the signed-in address.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns within the app.
- Device information: browser type, operating system, and IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below.
Meeting and coaching data
Sussur processes live audio locally on your Mac to deliver real-time coaching. Audio, recordings, transcripts, and screenshots are not uploaded to Sussur. To generate the coaching, the app sends transcript text to AI models operated through our inference provider, OpenRouter, Inc., on credentials provisioned for your account. Usage of those credentials is metered (that is the credits counter we hold); the transcript text itself is not stored by us, and what a model provider retains is governed by its terms. Coaching tips, session summaries, and reports stay on your Mac.
02How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Sussur service.
- Send you product updates, release announcements, and onboarding emails.
- Respond to your comments and questions.
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We will not use your information to train third-party AI models or sell it to advertisers. Coaching data is used solely to improve the accuracy of Sussur's coaching engine.
03Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the platform, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics (PostHog, Google LLC for Google Analytics, and Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. for cookieless Ahrefs Web Analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or government request.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent: for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
05Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our service and comply with legal obligations. Specific retention periods:
- Meeting audio: not retained. Audio is processed transiently and discarded immediately after real-time coaching is delivered.
- Session summaries and coaching logs: stored on your Mac, not by us. Delete them by deleting the app's local data.
- Usage analytics: PostHog usage data is retained in aggregated form. Google Analytics data is retained per Google's configurable retention window (up to 14 months) and governed by Google's terms.
- Email addresses from retired forms: Sussur no longer operates any mailing-list form or waitlist, and none of them are on the site. Addresses submitted before they closed are still stored. Email privacy@sussur.ai to have yours deleted.
06Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Under GDPR and similar regulations, these include:
- Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction: request that we limit the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
